One egg
It’s finally Easter! The eggs are all done,
arranged in a basket–well, all except ONE.
Is it out in the pasture? Or tucked on a shelf?
Who better to find it, than Bunny himself?
But TWO meddling magpies have joined in the search!
They scour the garden from high on their perch.
And THREE clever collies are curious too,
sniffing each crevice in search of a clue.
Then FOUR peckish piglets partake in the hunt,
rooting the ground with their snouts as they grunt.
Bunny must hurry, but who comes along?
It’s FIVE furtive foxes to join in the throng.
FOUR brilliant blue jays, with THREE tiny voles,
find TWO willing weasels to peek into holes.
At last, Bunny finds it–and wouldn’t you know?
It’s in his back pocket, all ready to go!
